Harriet Mier's FAUX blog

This is great satire:

One thing I've noticed though: good or bad, she *was* a pioneer of sorts; she was one of only two womyn to graduate in her SMU law class and was the first female senior partner in her firm, as well as the first female president of the Dallas and of the Texas bar associations.

Therefore *too* much criticism of her "commendable but less than world class" intellect is going to make many progressive womyn uncomfortable.

I still don't know what to think; part of me thinks of the SCOTUS as a political body anyway and I wonder if we'll do any better if this nomination is shot down.

Today: 20 mile training walk as follows: 6 miles easy, 5K road race (Hope for Haiti race) in 31:02 (9:53, 10:19, 10:50 (1.1)). Technique felt ok until the end when I wondered if I lifted a bit. Then 1 mile easy followed by 10 miles easy after the awards presentation. My usual running buddy (Tracy) wasn't there; she had a colonoscopy done yesterday.

I am making an effort to put some "pepper" into my workouts and I think this is starting to show up in my longer walks.
